I became obsessed with picks for a while. I've always enjoyed trying different sizes, shapes, materials, etc. I've been playing thicker picks for years (always at least 2.0mm or thicker). I REALLY became obsessed with boutique faux tortoise shell picks about 2 years ago. I wanted a real one, but...... Anyway, I bought and tried all I could find. Pearse, Hense, Django's, JB's, EML picks, etc. Well, I found out about Manouche picks (manouchepicks.com). He's out of Holland. He's a one man operation and is very responsive to emails, questions, and the like. The friendliest guy you could ever want to meet. They are incredible!!! I'm telling ya, I have four of them now, and they are by far the best sounding and feeling picks I've ever laid my hands on. He names them all as well. The four I have are 3.0mm. From L to R: Romino, Django (2 of them), and Eliza. They are so smooth. No drag at all across the strings. They just glide. Rounded/beveled edges. Made of Art Nouveau Tortoise and Shellrin Tortoise Bioplast/Cotton Fibre. They totally feel "played in". I doubt I'll find one any better than these for my style of playing anyway. And they aren't crazy expensive either. Somewhere around $20/$30 USD.
For me the Deluxe reverb is the best amp ever. Cuts any gig volume wise, and the best tone, not super clean but with that slight break up. Princeton is great amp too, but not as loud so not as...
Thank you for your answers! I will buy a bridge made of wood.
To be honest, I'm also thinking about changing the pickups. I owned a Les Paul Custom 30 years ago and really liked the sound. What do...
I couldn't open the link, but what you describe sounds a bit like an approximation of a Banjo-approach, which totally makes sense in a setting like that.
I could open your link for mellotone, and...
Beautiful girls in bikinis, I'm all for that, but that hideous "mankini" thing is a definite no bueno.
I prefer a lady who looks good in a bikini and can also stimulate my mind. I need a lady who...
o.k., this monstrosity is on ShopGoodWill.com, not Reverb, but it meets Reverb's deceptive advertising standard.
Obviously not made by Fender but the bidding price suggests that some people assume...
I agree with your sentiment, i.e., play it as written at first, you may learn something. I have been doing that, however, I will change chord voicings that are both awkward and mediocre, that is, if...
Isn't it strange that some of us can hear the difference between SS frets and NS frets and others cannot? I am not sure if our more sensitive hearing is a blessing or a curse.
If I wanted a guitar...

I'm glad I found out on a $1k tele rather than a 175. Sorry you went through that. On the tele, i changed pickups and like the guitar but it's a completely different instrument now...
