Bela Fleck, by the way, is an amazing jazz soloist. For sure, he plays the 5-string banjo--which is a bluegrass instrument. However, Fleck plays everything from classical to bluegrass to rock to jazz on the instrument. His talent is more or less boundless. He comes about as close to being a universal musician as anyone I have heard.
