Back to emulating pros who practice least, in the video interview with Johnny Smith posted recently here, Johnny (in his older days) said he didn't practice much at all anymore. He said he only used an amp for gigs and didn't play with one at home. And he didn't play much at home between engagements.

I saw i quote on my Facebook the other day, I tried to find it but couldn't but it was a question asked ! to a 90 year old cello player. "why so you practice everyday still ?" and he said, because i'm making progress .
