    Something's bugging me again.

It's not a judgemental issue, just curiosity.

When a musician (or any artist I guess) has become known for it, it will become their trademark and sometimes it becomes a burden.
Here are the two questions about it:

    1. Who has done a complete switch of their style while being riding on their comfortable wave?
    2. Who has never changed their style and just developed it?

We often see "early <artist>" or "late".. Or "In the 50s". Sure, it is very normal for the artist to evolve into something else. But the more interesting would be the reasons for the change or never needing one.

Wasn't there a rumor or a quote where O.Peterson complained having to baffle the audience all the time because it was expected from him?

I was going to say the same thing about Micheal Brecker.
