Why not take an easily available base, and plug/redrill the threaded stud holes, to fit your Faber base? If you are not experienced to do this, have a luthier do it for you.
Sounds great Jack. It's no BK of course, but...what is? :) How's the feel and comfort level?
Alright, so it's more like, another thing to get used too. I can handle that.
All very good Archie! Fun to watch the progression. I want to see some guitars! Preaching to the choir on vacuum pressing here, as you may remember. Here's a little story: I worked in a shop that...
X brace double cut. Those braces are put in there as an integrated part of a carved top, and it's a deadly compromise on intended design and structural integrity to rout a top like that...ESPECIALLY...

I was thinking of buying it and taking it apart for R&D but even at that price, I’m not interested. Who would you sell it to at £4k? I could buy a Guild Artists Award for that.

House of Guitars has had a few new Gibson archtops in the last few months. It's probably for real. They have a new L5CES as well. Attention Required! | Cloudflare
(why didn't I buy a Colling's back when? I even toured the factory and met the man himself)
I for one appreciate the tip, but I'm not motivated enough to drive 5+ hours (round trip) to see if it's worth buying. I have a Japanese 1970's "lawsuit" copy of that model which is just fine....
