Just wondering... Starting the B section with a IV is such a standard move I wonder what songs (if any) went with a twist and started the B section with iv.

    Thanks!

My first thought was this is very "Beatlesque."

A World Without Love Does it, I think...

    Flamingo

Love for Sale (which was written in 2 flats despite resolving to Bb minor in places, IIRC)

    The Eagles - Desperado

That song has a nice chord progression that jazzers could dig into.

The Night Has a Thousand Eyes moves to iv in its B section but it's acting as the ii chord in a ii-V-I progression (Gmaj7 > C-7 F7 Bbmaj7) . Does that count?

The min7 is possibly a different thing. IDK

    Interesting in its own way.

    "I'll Remember April"

The IVm actually serves as the IIm7 of the key Bb to which the tune is modulating.

Si tu vois ma mère by Sidney Bechet.

It then goes back to I just like most do.

I love the tune and how he played it.

Nice song. Played it many times with my trad band. I was on bass.

The Ralph Patt ‘tonal centers’ page (from the web archive) has these 2 lists under iv minor. (I think it just means these tunes contain the progression somewhere.)

I see Thank you. In fact I have a local copy of the whole website, which I made a few years ago. I realised the website had not been updated for a long while and thought it may go offline eventually so I downloaded it. I can share the 1.6 Gb zip file, maybe even open a thread for it as I think none of this material is copyrighted and his author was generous enough to give all that work to us all for free. Maybe the whole thing could be hosted legally somewhere just in case the web archive discontinues it, which I believe has happened with different other websites. The backing tracks alone for example are well worth it.
