I remember seeing somewhere a lesson on chords vamping using 4ths 5ths and I think it was bebop

the turnaround I think was turning the last chord (the I ? ) into a minor then continuing teh cycle
    maybe a cycle / cannon of ii V I ?

I lost a few computers and the links to the lesson

    any help appreciated

I'm not positive of what you're talking about, but if you follow that pattern, say, starting in C...

    Dm7, G7, Cmaj7

    Cm7, F7, Bbmaj7

You can move through all 12 keys rather nicely. Nice trick would be to try this, go through all 12 keys, and stay in one position.

Thanks for that BDLH. Where can I find the melody? None of my fakebooks have it.

michael franks songbook. findable if you really want it. page 98 of the japanese edition, nice handwritten score (natural signs a bit iffy-looking, but context will show clearly what is meant).

Does 'all the things you are' fit into this thing I'm trying to do ?
( man I am loving the bossa nova lately )

Yes. ATTYA rides that circle of 5ths train through several stops, too. It has the twist that the A section is repeated, lowered a 4th, for variety.
