Does this mean F6add9 or F6 with the 9th in the base. I have seen the latter alot of times. So I always assume(dangerous I know) that it is with the 9th in the base? Any Help as to if there is a rule?

    Thanks
slash notation indicating the bass note is always the letter name, so an eff major six nine chord with ninth in the bass would be written:

    F6/G

Randall, that's what I was looking for!

Thanks, now that's a rule I could live by.

Glad you cleared that up. I'm learning "The Preacher" and that's the tonic chord. I'd never dealt with it before.
