Chord- melody is a technique for an advanced guitarist,not for a beginner !You don’t run before you can walk

Start with the basics,we’ve all been there :

1)choose tunes with only one harmony,maximum two,not complex tunes as All the things

2)Play with a metronome: it’s fundamental.You will avoid the numerous breaks in tempo,like you are playing now.

3) Play the tune exactly as they are writed,notes and rhythm, without any embellishments ,first with a slow tempo: the slow tempo with a metronome is the secret of a good playing.

4)Once confident,play the melody with a tool like band in a box,first slowly,then progressively on the rhythm as writed
