In 1959 Charles Mingus wrote this song as an elegy for Lester Young who had just passed away. The name refers to the type of hat that Lester used to wear. For me it is one of the most beautiful and sad blues that have ever been written. I hope you like my arrangement.

just for historical accuracy, lester young died in march of 1959...mingus recorded goodbye porkpie hat about 2 months later in may of 1959 for mingus ah um record

Nice version. I worked it out once and your version sounds very similar, the tune does sort of lay quite well with all the chords on the guitar a certain way.
