Is it possible to wire a Humbucker and a regular Tele Bridge pickup using a 4 way switch ? Im trying to get both series and parallel wiring on the neck pickup, both pickups together and lead single coil Tele.
Yep. I did that with Dimarzio Area Ts and with Wilde L280TN, both stacked humbuckers. No reason PAF style won't work. If there is a pick up cover it needs to be grounded separately. The diagrams ought to make things pretty clear.
although with a Dimarzio Area T (with cover) and then a Wilde L280TN (no cover). Haven't done it with a PAF style bucker, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with a 4 wire conductor. You might need to ground the cover.
One other ? Since I'm using both a Humbucker and a Single Coil what ohm pots should be used? I've seen diagrams with both 500k a d 250K as well as a mix.
Not sure which to go with?
Perhaps you could use 500k/250k dual ganged pots. I have a Strat with PAF buckers in the middle and bridge, SC in the neck and wired it so that there is a 250/500k volume pot, 250k tone pot for the neck and 500k tone for the buckers. I used one side of the switch as the 250k side and the other side for the 500k side- no jumper between the common terminals on the switch.
Very interesting post scgim. My question is who is buying tickets to see that sham.I remember last year there was a Yardbirds tour which only had the drummer from the original band.Better off and...
I usually give the ends of the wrapped strings a squeeze with the flat inside of a long nose pliers. They will fit the Gibson finger tail piece. You won’t have a easy time finding a different nickel...
I haven’t played the benson strings in years but I recall they’re like swings with higher tension (thicker gauges). I have mostly come to dislike flatwound strings but I recently tried dogal...
If i understand you correctly, you want a flatwound string like the Bensons that feel the same without the silk wrap.If this is the case then i don't think you will find a comparable one you like i'm...
I had a set of TI Benson 12's. They were the best set of strings I ever owned. Took about a month to break in, after that they kept their tone and tension for three years. (Sold the guitar.) The only...
That is a unique guitar design, vaguely indebted to Ken Parker for the headstock (as the luthier acknowledges) and a hint of the old Danelectro Convertible body shape (which may be coincidental). ...
Well, the original was a 1964 standard old Gibson ES 175, so the original one is probably consistent with the guitars of the day. It's an interesting question as to whether or not Gibson did anything...
Yes, the clip-on tuners I use for classical guitars are temperamental due to the nylon strings being softer, I'd say mushy compared to steel strings. It takes longer to tune.
I'll have to look into...
Well look at that! That turned out really nice. I like the new knobs, aesthetically speaking. Hoping that you have years of enjoyment with that guitar!
I hear more midrange, more "texture" in the vintage one. Granted it's not apples to apples but this is consistent with my experience about what makes vintage dearmond pickups unique in the first...
Strings comparable to TI Bensons without the...
