Did Wes ever credit another guitarist for helping him develop his playing technique? I've only heard vague remarks about him such as "self taught" and "studied Charlie Christian's recordings."

Good question—I bought it used, and the strap button was already there. But I've had it for a few years and the crack only showed up this year.
Is that a factory fitted strap button or an afterthought? Could it be causing the back to separate from the heel block?

I think picks are a personal thing like strings, whatever one likes is fine for the job. It's nice to compare notes though.
