The Easy Guide to Chord Melody & Chord Soloing
This ebook Chord Melody is awesome. I love how it teaches holding the guitar, finger picking and techniques. There are many finger exercises and actual songs to practice on. the songs are are not easy arrangements. the are even Joe Pass and Ed Bichert licks. There is is just to much to mention here. I think I will buy all of the ebooks. If you can play some chords and notes even as a beginning abd apply yourself, you can become an expert jazz player from these e-books
For a guitarist who plays melody over chords with a pick, I found I had to re-learn finger style ( I used to play with block chords many years ago). This was made clear in product description, so no fault but my own. The learning phases of the book are very progressive and straightforward with excellent examples and backing tracks. I find it very difficult to play all three phases of bass, chords and melody simultaneously, but this book advances you at a reasonable pace, so I am hopeful of eventually mastering the technique.
I play a Gibson E335 with a Fender Mustang IV amp, and I find it difficult to get a clean sound with finger picking (no long nails). It is tempting to revert back to the pick, especially for fast single note solos.Any advice will be welcome, but I will persevere !
I'm an average fingerstyle guitarist and have wanted to attempt chord melody for sometime. It's difficult to know where to start with such a complex subject, but this book looks like being a great help. A good purchase.
