Pop-up Piano is a nice alternative for those that don't have a keyboard but like to examine things using one. It is a three octave keyboard just about perfect for playing with guitar scales and chords.

    Pop-up Piano

PLAY - if you just want to press keys and hear them

MARK - if you want to study something you can mark the keys (red dots) to represent a chord or scale, then switch to PLAY and press the keys to hear them. Return to MARK to change the marked keys.

CLEAR - clears all the marked keys

The undocumented feature I just discovered is very nice because it allows you to "shadow mark" the keys and then have it play them as an arpeggio ascending, after which the shadow marks disappear, so the way to use it is like this:

    - MARK to place the red dots for your scale or chord
    - PLAY to see them and play them
Use the shift key to shadow mark the red dot keys
When you release the shift key they will arpeggio
The shadow marks will disappear but the red stay until cleared with CLEAR

Yeah, sorry, that is how I discovered it but got excited combining it with the
red dots and forgot to mention it works in PLAY mode without the dots, too.
