Flash Cards to Study Music Theory

hi,

I'm trying to learn some theory, and i like using flash cards.
What are some of the most important things to study?
I'm thinking triads, the notes of each scale,...
maybe chords?

I'd say I'm at an intermediate level playing/theory understanding.

Just looking for input. Thanks.

good idea but i'm not with my guitar most of my day (work, school) so i want to make it efficient and study on the go. that was my idea behind the flashcards

Maybe you should start off with triads. Major, minor, diminished and augmented.

If you are at all Excel savvy, then you can create a list (of songs, scales, keys, notes, etc) and randomly select from it. I've used this in the past to give me "assigned" songs to work on.

Quick; what's the relative minor to F# major? What the 7th note (leading tone) of its harmonic minor scale?

Forget the flash cards. Do it the old fashioned way with a #2 lead pencil and some blank staff paper.

First write out all the major scales placing the accidentals by the notes themselves (rather than in the key signature). Next, harmonize the scales diatonically using triads, then 7ths, ninths 11ths and 13th. All keys.

Follow this up with writing out all the intervals from all 12 notes starting with perfect prime to 10ths. Don't forget to include diminished and augmented varieties using double flats and double sharps as appropriate.

After you do the major, move on to the harmonic minor and melodic minor series.
