Wanting to add some new tunes on my solo gigs, looking for tunes that swing and/or have jazzy progressions. I am currently playing Moondance, Benny & the Jets, Stray Cat Strut, Goodbye To Romance, Boys Are Back In Town, Fishing Hole, I Know A Little, Bad Bad Leroy Brown, How Many More Times, looking for suggestions along these lines. Thanks.

I have! My favorite Sabbath reimagining though has to be Brown Sabbath.

Sabs is my all time fave. I do a jazzy medley of Sweet Leaf/Fairies Wear Boots/Into The Void/National Acrobat/Electric Funeral.

Some that I play that might suit:

    Oh Lori - Alessi Bros
    Call Me - Petula Clark
    Flintstones Theme
Living In The Past - Jethro Tull
The Look Of Love - Bacharach
My Baby Just Cares For Me - Nina Simone
    Spooky - Dusty Springfield
    A Taste Of Honey - Marlow/Scott
    This Masquerade - Leon Russell
Unchain My Heart - Bobby Sharp
You Know That I'm No Good - Amy Winehouse
Johnny and Mary - Robert Palmer

You mean rock and pop tunes, or is there something called "rock & pop"? Methinks there's a lot of rock & roll that swings as much as any swing jazz tune and as to pop ... I've always considered that a generic term for any form of popular music that can be found on the usual hit charts, disco included.

    But ... the Beatles, swinging?

Honey Pie works great as a swinging song.

A lot of Grateful Dead. A good Scarlett Begonias is an example of great swing. Some of the best swing comes from the early 70s when Mickey is NOT dual drumming.

Any, when the drummer is too stoned to keep it tight.

"Moondance" by Van Morrison, "the Lovecats" by the Cure and "Tainted Love" are the first that I could think of.

I had played the bass for a couple of years in a band that covered every kind of song but in a jazzy style, you can play whatever you want.
The song is not so important.
