Hello.
I wanted to ask you about this way of playing.
This SOLOIST fingerstyle+jazz/country guitar that we can see on songs like:
(BRENT MASON-THE FIRST RULE OF THUMB)
(YOUVE GOT A FRIEND IN ME - SOLO FINGERSTYLE)
I would like to learn much more about this type of playing. I've seen artists doing similar things like Joe Pass or Scotty Anderson, but they're either very jazzy or they're very country. In these two songs that I exemplify there is a balance that I would love to master...
Could someone recommend more examples of similar songs or artists?
Many thanks in advance.

Jerry Reed's 'Jiffy Jam' and Mark Casstevens 'All Thumbs' have that feel

Jim Campilongo, Danny Gatton, Chet Akins.

Hillbilly jazz. Jimmy Bryant, Eldon Shamblin, Redd Volkheart, Roy Lanham.

The father of them all, Merle Travis:

The great Tom Morrell on steel, Rich O'Brien on guitar, and the rest of the Time Warp Top Hands. There are many videos of them on YouTube. The Pterodactyl Ptales album is very good.

Are we talking about the Travis-picking style technique or the music?
I'd add Mike Dowling to the list!
