This is probably the nearest thing we have to it:

Talking about making a guitar talk! I think BB King would have loved this solo!

Charlie has some nice lines in his solo. He and the great Herb Ellis play the kind of blues/ jazz blues that I am a bit ashamed to say, sounds kind of dated to me. And its funny coming from me who mainly loves the more traditional Jazz (late 1940s - the 60's).

I guess there are limits even for me on how far I can go back in music. Still, I owe it to myself to learn a Charlie Christian type solo or two, since many have incorporated his style.

I like he throws in a tiny bit of outside notes... And as always Carlton's mastery of dynamics from phrase to phrase and within phrases

    kris,

Can you tell me the title of that really long Jazz Blue Improvisation video that you posted? I can't remember the fellows name. I think he soloed for 60 minutes or something like that. You took on the challenge and soloed for a long time yourself.

Please give me the title so that I can look it up again.

    Thank you.

That was a study in octaves and probably ground-breaking when it first came out.

Hello James, in the words of a previous poster, "while this is not a" typical "jazz/blues" it does combine elements from several styles (classical/country/jazz/blues and even some pop rock..the bit in the intro à la Pink Floyd at 0.40" ). After around 3'.00 " it starts to sound rather bluesy/jazzy .....And it does feature a darn fine guitar solo.
