    i love the way jimmy raney does "someone to watch over me"

    does it gotta be guitar? my favorite ballads are all chet baker and paul desmond tracks...

    and of course, i think "flamenco sketches" qualifies, even if there's no lyric being interpreted...

    A very quick chord melody of "Autumn Leaves" by Tal Farlow, from 1955's "The Interpretations Of Tal Farlow". It's just under two minutes. One of my favorites.

    How do you define a ballad? Is it about tempo, a certain way the chords move, a minor key, or just about the feel of the tune?
