Hello jazzers, .... El Prince.... there two songs that I know of, w/this title. One is from a Burton/Metheny live recording. The other is from Paul Desmond I think, I'm after the live version by Metheny and Burton.

I cannot find this version on line. This tune has very little tension for a jazz tune but it is very rich in all the musical devices employed by great players. It may be on one of the reunion albums. I have one of those albums but no El Prince as far as I can tell.

Thanks for your time if you decide to help or not.

p.s. almost any tension, [for me ] comes from the listener's expectation to hear those juicy resolutions to the opening figure played by Pat. I've always admired the creation of expectation for the listener, it's a lovely ephemeral time of delicate waiting...... then the Ahhhhhhhhhh of completion.

The Desmond version is on YouTube. The other one isn't, nor on Spotify. You might have to buy the album!

    Really good tune, btw.
