    I love stuff like this...hearing the history/origins of a song...feel like it can be really useful.

    I always felt a lot of joy in St. Thomas--I mean, it's hard not to get happy hearing it...but knowing that happiness came from somewhere else (Rollins' childhood) makes me like the song even more.

    Just thought I'd update this. My teacher has decided I'm ready to dissect a solo, so I'm going to do the Sonny Rollins solo on this tune. Should be interesting.
    Also, did anyone go listen to The Lincolnshire Poacher? I can hear the 5-1-7-1 move at the end, but I probably wouldn't have associated the two songs if I didn't know what to listen for.

    Try all different ways just like learning different ways to the airport or downtown. I'd also add that the end turnaround 2 bars seems Black Gospel Changes I,III/I, IV,b V dim 7 ,V sus 11
