Here is a corrected version of Dexterity from the Real Book:
Dexterity corrected.pdfDexterity corrected.pdf
I mostly did this for myself as it is much more fun and satisfying to not hear dissonance while playing along.
Thanks to the slowed down and isolated track from PMB, it is much easier to clearly hear the melody; a luxury that the original Real Book transcriber didn't have.
I oriented myself on Parker (since he wrote it) as Miles plays some different notes, especially on the bridge.
Most of these corrections are unimportant pickup/ghosted notes, but a few do change the character of the tune and also make more sense with the harmony.
Played up to tempo none of this will really matter much.
I don't have the Parker Omni-book so maybe these mistakes are already fixed.
If anyone is interested here is a list of the corrections:
Bar 2 second eighth is B natural
Bar 3 third note is Ab
Bar 4 second note is A- forth note is Bb
Bar 7 last eighth is G natural tied over the bar
Bar 8 third note is Gb
Second bar of bridge last eighth is E natural
Forth bar of bridge last note is D
Seventh Bar of bridge second note is Eb
Last A section has the same corrections as the first A section
Corrected the composer's name!
I hope that I have saved someone some work.Last edited by Question; 10-31-2024 at 04:33 PM.

It depends what type of band it is.
If I’m playing a fast rhythm changes swing style I have the rhythm guitar voice movement stuff dialled in. This type of stuff
Bb Bo7 | C-7 C#o7 | D-7 Dbo7 | C-7 F7
I just played it enough times at medium tempo to learn it. Now I can do it fast.
Sometimes I play dyads, there’s some good lines in RC.
None of my voicing are hard to play otoh
This may not help much but what I’d say is that you need to approach your repertoire of comping ideas with the same level of importance as soloing.
More so in fact.
