The banjo is from c.1918, the A. A. Farland wood-rimmed, bevelled-top, open-backed banjo, with Favilla on the headstock. Almost zero sustain.
Eddy Davis was Woody Allen's banjo player, and a good cyber friend. He is a legend in the world of early jazz, and the banjo in particular. I was thinking of him a lot while making this arrangement. Eddy also liked 17-fret open-backed banjos, less in your face than the 19-fret resonator jobs.
