I want to thank everyone for taking time to view my listing! Stay tuned, more to come. I am in thinning the herd mode. Lol.

    ================================================== =====================
This beautiful L5 CES finished in Vintage Sunburst is in near-mint condition, with no signs of dings or wear. There are a few very faint surface finish scratches, but you will have to look hard under bright light to notice. The guitar looks new and has been carefully kept in my climate-controlled home studio. It has never been gigged with and only taken to a couple of jams in the 11 years I’ve owned it.
This guitar was made in the Nashville Custom Shop in 2011. It is truly a classic instrument with great tone and craftsmanship. The appearance can be both imposing and graceful. It has a stylish single cutaway, block inlays and an artfully crafted headstock, bearing a pearl inlay inspired by urns from ancient Greece. The guitar’s dimensions are key to its’ rich warm woody tones. Multi-ply binding in black and white accents the top and back. A single-ply white binding outlines the f-holes.
A near-mint Gibson Hardshell Case is included.

    Features:

    - 17” width at the lower bout
    - 3-3/8” rim depth
    - 25-1/2” scale
    - 1-11/16” nut width
    - 22 frets & 12” radius Ebony fretboard
    - Superior Grade carved Spruce top
    - Flame maple carved back and sides
    - Flame Maple neck
    - All Gold Hardware
    - 2ea. Gibson Classic 57 humbucking pickups
    - ABR Bridge with Ebony base.bridge
    - Unique arful L5 tailpiece with silver accent center-piece
    - Gibson/Shaller tuners
    - 3-way pickup selector toggle switch
    - 2ea. Volume & 2 ea. Tone control knobs

If you’ve been looking for a professional-level Jazz box with outstanding playability at an excellent price this instrument is for you. The L5 has long been considered an historic icon in the guitar world.

Local sales preferred (Sacramento CA.), but will ship domestically to lower 48 states at buyer’s expense.

Yes it is. I've thoroughly enjoyed owning this wonderful instrument. The reason I'm letting it go at an excellent price is I want it to be more accessible to those who truly appreciate the L5.

Over the years, I've been gravitating towards semi-hollows and solid-bodies more and more. The L5 is a wonderful sounding and playing instrument that should be played. I decided it's time to pass the baton to someone else.

Hey, I’m in Sac. Welcome to the Boards. I actually sold my L5C to someone on these boards. Good luck with the sale. I’m sure it won’t last long.
Always happy to connect with local jazz guitar players—-I play 8 string guitars, these days, that’s why I sold my L5C.

I am 100 miles away and interested.
Can you measure the fret height. I have seen some from this year that had the frets pleked too low.

    Hello Vinny,

Thanks for inquiring. I will measure the frets and get back to you later on this evening. Just as a FYI, the frets have a substantial feel to them. I know this is a very personal thing and subject to interpretation. Talk soon.

    Thx
    Allen

Vinny, I know you like a warm tone and the CES delivers a slightly warmer tone than the WESMO does. This guitar looks like a good fit for you.

    Hi Vinny,

OK finally had a chance to measure the fret height. They appear to be approximately 0.035" in height. There's very little fret wear, as the guitar has not been played much at all. Hope this helps.

    Hello Navdeep,

Thanks for the greetings and well wishes! A buddy of mine in San Francisco also gave up the 6 string for 8, 9 & 10 string custom built guitars. I have enough problems trying to manage 6 strings. Lol.

    Thank you Allen !

I have trouble with frets under .040.
    Tom really wants it so I shouldn’t be a pig. I have 4 L-5’s.

I am basically totally out of guitar room in my small house.
I know you are wanting a solid or semi but I would offer up a
brand new 2023 Byrdland as a trade if Tom punts.

Tom is a great guy and very anal. He will take great care of your baby.

    Go for it Tom.
