Altman SJ Gypsy Jazz Acoustic Guitar, Recent | om28.com
Eric has priced this at $3,850.00, and provided the description below. You might enjoy viewing the pics, even in you're not shopping for a similar guitar.
An interesting "gypsy jazz" box by the highly respected builder of bluegrass instrument in Colbert, GA. It shares characteristics of the original Maccaferri guitars such as the floating bridge, extra long scale (to give more down pressure over the bridge,) the wide neck (Maccaferri was a classical player,) the zero fret and slotted peghead, the wicked looking cutaway, the European tenth fret inlay, the oblong soundhole, the ladder braces and the Macaferri tailpiece and rosette. It differs in that the back and sides are solid rosewood, whereas the originals were laminated, and the bridge height is adjustable.
Tonally, it has more bass than the Maccaferri I owned a million years ago (petit bouche, 13 serial numbers from Django's) and retains the screaming treble that will cut through your Hot Club with aplomb with its accompanying reverb. It's also in practically as-new condition - it's in need of some dings and scratches from a serious musical life.

This is one of those guitars that whether you need more guitars or not, you wish you could play it for awhile. Custom bluegrass builder.. gypsy jazz guitar. Seems a great combination.
