This is a beauty and is carved like the Heritage Johnny Smith. It's cross braced with a toned top. It's all original. I've scope the body and found the bracing is solid. It's an antique natural with beautiful aging. It was certainly made with the finest woods. Look at the silking and the flames! It's all original with the Floating #3 pickup, a very good match for the guitar. This has the extra binding on the fretboard that Heritage stopped in the year after this was built as a cost saving effort, according to Marv Lamb. The tailpiece also is the most ornate style Heritage made ever. There were some scratches on the top when I got it. Pete Moreno sanded the spots and resprayed the top with clear. He set the guitar up. It looks and sounds great and plays beautifully. It is excellent. It comes with the OHSC.

I have eight Heritage Super and Golden Eagles, some of them I wasn't really planning on but just happened (sort of). All of them are masterworks. This one needs a new home.

Note the flat heel that allows a little more high fret access. That's a Marv Lamb feature that many later GEs didn't have.

I used to have the exact twin of this guitar, same finish, same fingerboard binding and tailpiece, same date +/-. It was a honey of a guitar. I had them swap out the standard pickguard for one without the front "spike" and it also had a volume and tone knob. I had them engrave my name on the truss rod cover.I had to sell that guitar in 2006 in a financial family crisis. We weathered the crisis, but I have always missed that guitar. Just seeing this one awakens that old ache! These are wonderful instruments, and the player will bond deeply with them.

Well...clearly, you need to buy this guitar.

Ha! I wish. But just a little cash short for that at the moment. But it's a beauty, and from what I know to be a fine vintage.

Gorgeous Golden Eagle! And, a bargain for an exquisite archtop. Whoever buys this will be very happy. I own a Golden Eagle custom ordered by Patrick and I am very pleased with that guitar.

ss: It's x-braced, or "cross-braced" as MG states up top. And it's cheap. But, are you looking for something with a floating pickup or a set-in pickup?

The neck is not one of the thin ones.

    1st fret 0.91"
    10th fret 0.94"

Lovely looking guitar, and thank you for the neck dimensions. Is the profile of the neck a "C" shape, a "D" shape, or something else?

Also, do you by any chance have pictures of the front of the headstock, and/or of the full instrument (body, neck, headstock)?

    Thank you!
