A work of art, and truly one of a kind, this thinline Super 400 is more than rare, in fact, you will never see another like it.....ever! From the legendary "Hutch" era of fine handcrafted archtops, this 2003 stunner was custom ordered to boast all of the finest appointments, down to the incredible engraved hardware. Check out that hand carved quilted maple! Incredible! The neck is a nice chunky profile with an amazing flame. The guitar plays, breathtakingly well. I use that description specifically because I did really audibly gasp when i plugged this in and started to play. It is simply a work of art and an instrument in its own tier. These Hutch era instruments are truly a newer Golden era for Gibson archtops. If you know, you know! This guitar has a very nice acoustic voice with a lovely musical woodiness and crispness. It is a joy to play even unplugged sitting on the couch. Plug it in and you get a lovely percussive articulation that archtop lovers crave. Don't miss this once in a lifetime instrument! Contact Joe's Vintage Guitars for an in hand description! The guitar is in fantastic shape. Asking $17k shipped, or trade for vintage archtop instruments.

Showpiece .... Too bad that Gibson never offered this slimmer version outside the super-duper-bling-bling department. I've only ever seen one thinline Super-400 in blonde some 10 years ago and was way cheaper than this, without the engraving. I'd have chosen this version over the full depth Super any time since the decreased depth of the body makes it so much more comfortable to hold while the deep and robust sound does not suffer.... GLWTS !
