That's a guitar I'm always on the lookout for too. Specs are ideal for me. Single pickup, under 3 inch depth and a 1 11/16" nut (from what I see, most Sadowskys seem to have 1 3/4" inch nut width, which I don't care for). Also 15 frets to the body. I guess the only other production guitar that's close is the gb10?

yup, same for me, cant do 1 3/4. i think the only one with the 1 3/4 nut is the SS15, i could be wrong. I have a Sadowsky semi and its 1 11/16, i also have a T- Style same. I had a blond JB i sold years ago..damn i should have kept it. ya the GB10 is prob the closest

Yes, sorry you're right-Sadowsky semi-hollows are 1 11/16" but I believe the full hollows (SS 15, LS 15,and Jim Hall) that I've seen listed are 1 3/4" nuts

I wouldn't worry about that. Everyone I know that has purchased a guitar from a reputable shop in Japan hasn't had any issues with shipping to the States. At least something to consider.

I've had 2 guitars imported from Japan, no issues with either one and much quicker shipping times than I expected

Aren't these guitars technically "American" even though a lot of the work took place in Japan?

You might reach out to Roger and see what he says, but you might not have to pay any duties.

Ah, but what is a reputable shop? And what is the dollar/yen conversion rate? And do you really get such a great deal to make it worthwhile? And how do you estimate your import duties?

Not to be pedantic, but the feedback on whether or not to deal with a shop is right there on their Reverb page, and this one in particular is fairly convincing. On top of that, it already shows you what the price is in whatever currency you have set to your account. If there isn't what you're looking for available in the States, then you are going to have to make a decision on what constitutes a 'deal' to you.

As far as estimating duties, there are dozens of tools available via any Google search, but here's one from DHL: https://www.dhl.com/global-en/micros...ess/mygts.html

It is USD3553 directly from Kurosawa Gakki, off Reverb. Jazznote bought his used Gibson LeGrand Natural from Kurosawa Gakki. Ask him about his experience. Kurosawa Gakki is experienced in international transactions and transacting in English.

I would buy it just for the description:

"The sound of the child, which is so sweet and yet moist and does not leave any discomfort in the ear, is superb, so much so that it seems that time melts away during adjustment."

What's the word on the Sadowsky Semi-hollow model guitar? -- Sadowsky Guitars

I think it's the lowest priced hollow body he made, but still relatively expensive for a semi.
