A guitar cannot br for sale unless we know the price. Otherwise it is not for sale, it starts with you the seller.

No photos. No price. No history. Hastily written post. Caveat emptor.

Just joined. First post. Looking for a quick sale. Hmmmm. We might need a little more here.

Likely the one on Reverb but I'm not gonna link the ad, the seller can fix his post, conform to the forum rules, etc.
Once again I think this place needs to go back to a minimum post rule before allowing sales, at least 25 imo, but once again up to Dirk of course.

And no response. Would anybody seriously consider buying a guitar from this person?

Perhaps someone DM'd him/her/them and it sold!

First post? What is this place coming to? Nice looking guitar though…in my mind.

I’m one of the people that told him to list this guitar here. It’s for sale on FB in the super 400 group with several photos. I have spoken with this person at length and I believe this guitar is legit. Error

    This cracked me up:

I posted the link to the s400 group, but that’s what came up.

Of course. Still cracked me up though, esp. seeing your own post count and the reference to a FB group/marketplace.

No offense, but we've seen at least 1 scammer here who had been around for (IIRC) a few years and had a higher post count with contributions that in themselves didn't raise any flags until (supposedly) he got someone hooked.

At least 1 forum reserves selling to members with a paid membership, but I doubt even that is a fail-safe protection if the potential gains are big enough.

You posted a link to a private group where "Only members can see who's in the group and what they post." I'd suggest you contact the OP and ask him to read this: Selling Stuff? Read here first! At this point, however, I doubt most members will want to take the risk.

Would you be so kind as to post images and sales information for the seller since he seems unwilling to do so? It kinda goes with the territory and since you're the connection, it would be a service to the community if you'd do the follow up that the seller hasn't done:
    Photos
    Detailed description
    Price
    History

This would go a long way to helping your friend establish enough credibility to elicit a "Serious Inquiry" response or PM.
I think that's what the community expects here, you could help if the seller really is serious.

I don't know the guy. I told him to put it here to reach a wider audience. He gave me a price when I asked, and he offered to meet me halfway, because I'm not that far.
The price was more than I'm willing to pay, but maybe someone here lives near Ann Arbor MI and wants to check it out. The guy appears to own a Jewelry store in Ann Arbor.

Again, I'm not friends with, and I don't know him personally. I had a decent chat about the instrument, and that was all. He didn't sound like the typical scammer.

I posted the link to the super 400 owners group on FB, to which I belong.

As for my post count here, it is what it is. I've never sold anything, but I'm not brand new either, I've been here for 8 years.

I have no skin whatsoever in this game and at this point I really don't care.

Those are the same pictures that are on the super 400 group on FB. That is the same guy to whom I spoke, and the same guitar. It is indeed on reverb.

The guitar is easily found online. It's not a '66. It's a narrow nut '69 priced at nearly $26k, in case anyone is still interested. That sure is, er, optimistic pricing.

agree on the year as being a '69 but it's not a narrow nut early '69, likely a standard width late '69.
even w/ out the measuring tape you can tell by how close the lower points of the truss rod cover come to the inner edge of the binding.
if it was a narrow nut those points would overlap the binding. that said it's nice but priced way, way too high for a '69

Just as a comp, a minty early 60s blonde Super w/ marbled guard and carved back, a much rarer and more desirable guitar, was priced @ 30K earlier this year @ a major dealer that typically prices guitars very high. that one took awhile to sell and eventually sold for less than the ask.
I'm guessing this seller isn't very experienced selling guitars, just 4 pics in the listing w/2 of the nut and case isn't the way to sell a high end instrument.

I have a 1968 that has the exact same nut width. Gibson confirmed serial number. Mine in 1 11/16".

    Gibson said late 1968.
