FORUM PRICE: $399 shipped in the lower 48. PayPal only please, or cash if you're local to the New Orleans area (welcome to come audition).

The electronics suite (amp/preamp) from a 1982 Polytone Mini Brute III combo amp were removed and replaced inside this custom cabinet that I built, converting it into a head unit. The amp performs as designed, yet allows the user to choose an extension speaker cabinet to suit their needs. I formerly used an 8 ohm 2x8 Theile style cabinet, and am currently using an 8 ohm 2x8 / 1x15 isolated custom cabinet. In my opinion, the results in both cases far exceed the amp's original 1x15 combo cabinet in terms of sonic delivery.

    Benefits of this design:

    • Greater portability of the amp, weighs just over 19lbs
    • Choice of your existing extension cabinets

It’s original diamond pattern combo cab (VGC) w/ 15” Eminence speaker (OEM) will be sold separately AFTER the amp sells.

This amp as configured works well for electric guitar, bass guitar, and acoustic guitar applications. It responds respectably with analog and digital effects, and particularly well with my old tube-based '63 Reissue Fender Reverb unit.

    That actually looks really classy.

Thought I'd insert this labeled image in response to a question I received on my Reverb listing. With the exception of the 'main' output, the rear panel layout follows that of the original cabinet. I'm currently driving an 8 ohm cab.

Thanks! There's a lot of interest, if unique hits on forums and 'watchers' on Reverb & eBay mean anything. I'm seriously considering buying a 4-string bass (again LOL!) and keeping this for it's amplification.
