I have a DV Mark micro 50 II head, it has no dedicated lead out port that I can connect to a USB interface for recording directly to my DAW. The head does on the other hand have 2 speaker posts out, as well as a headphone port. Can either of those be used to connect to a USB interface? As I know nothing of electronics I must ask is there any danger, either to hardware or to the recording quality? Thanks!

Use the headphone out. The quality may not be great, but it will work. The speaker outputs will damage your interface. The effects loop out will also work, and may be the best option. Try both and see which you prefer.

+++ The Effects Loop ! You can choose your virtual speaker within the software in your DAW and the signal will be strong enough to drive your interface with a good signal-to-noise ratio. Just dial in a balanced sound on your amp and fine-tune it later.
