    Actually that reminds me of when I started out trying to copy jazz solos, this was back in the 1980s, the only method I had was to record them off the records onto an old reel-to-reel tape deck, then play them back at half-speed. It was like listening to a bass guitar wallowing in a swamp of mud.

    It actually doesn't change pitch...so there's kind of an "echoey" quality to it, but it works.

    I just usewd it this morning to nab this tasty little David Rawlings harmonic passage on the intro to "Airplane," worked great.

    No, it doesn't change the pitch, but it sounds pretty distorted.
