You know, when you read that interview Wes seemed like the quintessential meat and potatoes musician. But when you hear him play it's so sophisticated it's almost hard to put the two together. There's a lot of great players and I rarely use the 'genius' term but like Pops, Bird, Duke, Miles, Monk and a few others I think he qualifies.
