Here's a 1959 Canadian Broadcasting Corp. special called the "Canadian All Star Jazz Show." The band includes Ed Bickert (looking like he just finished boot camp) playing a non-cutaway Super 400 with a McCarty pickup! I knew he played an ES175 and (I think) an L5 at various points, but the Super 400 is news to me. He has a couple of short solos at about the 34:40 and 46:40 marks. You also see him playing rhythm whenever the full band is playing.
Enjoy!

Band sounds great, keeping that for later. Ed sounds like his later self in the second solo. Thanks

First time I've seen him not chewing gum. The master.

I wouldn't know it was Ed Bickert playing.
different articulation and sound - hollow- body guitar / thick strings I think ...?

His second solo starts out dry, but halfway through someone engages a deep, swampy reverb.
