One of several very talented contemporary italian (?) players on today's scene, and a good instructor, great learning material I have from him somewhere that I’ve yet to tackle. The other one that comes to mind is Alessio Menconi, also a skilled teacher and advanced bop player. Lots of others, Eleonora Strino, Matteo Mancuso, 2 or 3 younger fusion players whose names I forget. The Italian influence on jazz guitar cannot be denied, but I’m proud of my Viking heritage …Martijn van iterson, Jesse van Ruller, Lage Lund, Andreas Oberg. Makes you wonder how cultures inform musical ability, especially when the style you master doesn’t have direct roots to one’s own culture. Then there are all of those talented Israelis…Originally Posted by RayS
