I mean, not Metheny, Montgomery, Frisel, Albercombe, Martino, GBenson, etc, all the big names we all know.
I really like Hristo Vitchev.
Any names to share ? With clip better.
Edited: forgot to say "guitar players".Last edited by man-argentina; 09-29-2021 at 03:30 AM.

When I have time later, I'm going to listen to this thread.
My "newest" guy is Julian Lage, and he's not even that new, and I really only listen to his stuff from World's Fair forward.

Seems to be a noticeable shortage of women players that people are listening to. Anyway, not just because she's a woman but because she's a damn good guitarist, I'm listening to Jocelyn Gould.

Blimey, they're getting two a penny!

I really enjoy her playing. When she released her current CD, it was played in regular rotation on music choice tv. That's how I first heard her.

Joe Marcinek is one of my favorite young guns.

Man, this is great! Thanks, everybody, for pointing out some musicians I might never have found on my own.

Really like Rotem Siven :
And Jakob Bro is pretty interesting:

Thanks all for the replies!

I'm a big fan of Dimitri Howald. He seems to fly under the radar. I keep going back to his albums and I think because of his strong melodic approach and his sweet tone (es-335).

Not that young, and more of a traditionalist, but I like Andy Brown. Lots of videos on the tube. Sometimes plays with Howard Alden, Don Stiernberg, and others.
Nate Najar, in the Charlie Byrd school.
Randy Napoleon
Maybe more as I think of them.

Man, this is a great thread. Lots of new-to-me stuff to check out now…

For chord melody, there's nobody like Guinga, IMO.
Here he is playing In A Sentimental Mood. He's terrific at playing American Standards, but does not typically record them.

Albert Vila
Romain Pilon

Don't know if these really qualify as "Jazz" ...
Eddie Roberts from The New Mastersounds channels Grant Green in a retromodern setting:
Eric Krasno with a track from Soulives debut album:
Phillip Czarnecki from my home town Cologne:
Florian Kiehn from Hamburg's NuHussel Orchestra:
Julian Lage of course:
I'm afraid I'm loosing you here at the latest with Andy Pfeiler playing in Nils Landgren Funk Unit:
How did you get your teaching gigs?
