I’ve been on a bit of a video binge lately. Here are some featuring Sacha Distel in 1958 when he was still primarily a jazz guitarist. He’s definitely channeling Raney in these examples, playing what appears to be a Gibson ES-350T.

Yeah I quite like Sacha! And I think at that time he was dating a young Brigitte Bardot.... some years later Bardot was gone and he switched to corny chansons... how life can take its turns...... (probably made more money with the chansons, though)
