getting back into the saddle, i need a pony with short legs.

Billy Bean ............................. brilliant, as much as i love Tal & Raney, Billy is a nightmare, i believe he did not get up until mid-day and missed out on huge amounts of work & dates, how true that is who knows, fond of a shot or three, so was Raney ................. who is not.

after listening to Grooveyard , guess where Wes M got it from . The Trio vers is slower but excellent.

the whole album for little yes .mp3 but 320Kb £1.79

yeah man...billy bean and the trio...the trio formed when billy got back from his relatively short stay on the west coast (altho the majority of his recorded output comes from that period!)

the original the trio lp (now expanded with a few bonus tracks) was a great lp...but unfortunately the band could not get gigs and they were forced to go their own ways

    one of the bonus tracks-safari

    cheers

ps- great billy bean-the trio thread from a few years back

The cd "rediscoved" is actually a different session than the orig trio recording on Riverside even though both had the tune Grooveyard, but are different performances.
It sat in the can for almost 40 yrs before being released on an English label.
