    I love it when super "out" players put out an album that shows they have a foundation in the jazz canon. I don't think it's totally necessary, but it's a blast to hear these guys—especially Zorn—play relatively straight. Came out in '88, when all three of these dudes were getting pretty weird, which makes it even cooler to me.
