    I thjink early recordings of JVR on Elferink guitar sound a little better in my opinion.

    I thought his early recording were on his Gibson?

    There is his sound on Elferink-live but his early studio recordings are really great.

    I must admit that I can't remember hearing Jesse Van Ruller play before - but I liked what I heard a lot!

    Very creative and soulful single note improvising.

    All the early recordings were done on a Levin 320 that he received from his teacher, Wim Overgaauw but from memory, Jesse backed his car over that guitar after a gig. He recorded with it once or twice after the accident (it's on his excellent Live at Murphy's Law album). I loved the sound he pulled from that instrument. Jesse's used a bunch of guitars since then and the one on this new album is a Japanese-made Westville Aruba.
