He was looking pretty sickly last couple of video interviews. Another pioneer gone.

Rest in peace, Mr. Holdsworth. The world is diminished by your absence, but enriched by your memory.

Very Sorry to hear of his passing. Yesterday, I listened to a compilation of tunes from his work with Tony Williams. Not much else to say but the community of guitar playing musicians lost an innovative and talented member today. RIP, Mr. Holdsworth.

Wow! Sad news indeed. I will never forget seeing him at a medium size venue in SF in the '80s. There were two cute girls there and we struck up a conversation. They came by themselves because they liked his music. I was taken by surprise when they said that. Of course they were the only two girls in the audience.

Very sad to hear this unexpected news. Allan was unique. I saw him a couple of times in the last 5 years and the experience was incredible. He had a highly individual soundscape, that was immediately recognizable once you had absorbed it. He will be missed.

I'm quite upset about this. He seemed like such a good bloke, wry sense of humour, very Yorkshire despite living in California.

Obviously an amazing player, like a bolt from the blue. Heard him live twice, I'm glad to say.
