Chromatic/Abstract Dm7 Pat Metheny/Hristo Vitchev side stepping arpeggios
This is a sweet lick influenced by Metheny and Hristo Vitchev's work.
Roughly based on a Dm9 Arpeggio but it uses the classic metheny technique of chromatic minor 3rds
played between 2 strings but using a hammer on from nowhere (h) on the bottom note of the pair. This avoids
the problematic inside-out picking that plagues many guitarists who try to pick the notes of these types of sequence.
Additionally, this line makes use of chromatic side stepping, utilizing those minor 3rds as passing tones. And because
of that, while the line works over Dm7, it goes inside and outside the harmony to achive an abstract tonality.

Sounds great as usual, Jack.
This reminds me, I remember on Facebook you either did or were thinking about taking a few lessons from a jazz guitarist who uses those Ernie Ball fingerpicks to play all these wild pianistic arpeggios on guitar. What was the guy's name again? And how did that go? Haven't seen you use them, so I'm assuming it didn't stick.
