Songs We Know, Fred Hersch (pno) and Bill Frisell (gtr)

Romero Lubambo and Cesar Camargo Mariano, guitar and piano. These two guys might have the best sense of time as a duo that I have ever heard. They are just locked in.
Bill Frisell and Joey Baron. Not my cup of tea, for the most part, but they are certainly having fun.
And Gene Bertoncini's recent album "Love Like Ours" which is a series of duos with violin, bass, vibes, voice, etc. Gene's harmonic conception is always fresh and surprising. In some ways I think he is the most modern of jazz guitarists.Last edited by Cunamara; 12-03-2024 at 01:02 AM.

My two favorite guitar and bass duo albums are Jim Hall & Red Mitchell live. And "Wood and Strings," recorded by former Berklee instructor, John Stein with bassist Dave Zinno.

John Abercrombie & Andy Laverne made about a half dozen duo records, obviously influenced by Hall/Evans but very much in their own way. I love all of them
