I just stumbled across this live studio session and am really impressed with Charlie Allen's tasty ideas and tone... I'm a bit surprised that I haven't found more about him online. (I don't do social media, so have not been to FB or IG pages.)
Any Incognito fans know some details about his gear? Looks like he's playing a 335 - and a fairly new one, at that, as it is pretty shiny :-) but I've not yet gotten a good look at his amp or pedals. Yeah, I know a studio recording isn't live, tone is in the hands, etc. but if you know anything about his gear, please indulge me :-)
UPDATE 2: I think it's a silverface Twin. Amp views at 1:09:56, 1:11:15. He is plugged into the second channel; we see the amp again at 1:12:59. At 1:13:56 he steps aside from the front of the amp for just a second and we get our best view of what appears to be a silverface Twin. (He has unplugged by now.) He's also got a pedalboard but we never get a good look at his pedals. Given that this studio is in Lichtenstein, it makes sense that he would be using one of their amps or a rented backline... and a silverface Twin is available pretty much anywhere. I'd still be curious to know what he prefers for his own gear. He's got a great tone.
For those who don't want to watch the whole vid, check out his solos at 27:45, 29:26 and 1:13:56.
I found this podcast but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet:
(1.18) Sitting In with Charlie Allen - Pandemic Shedding, Graduating Rhythm School & Breaking The Lockdown Blues — Rhys Gilchrist Guitar
Any more info on him would be great... links to interviews, etc.
TIA,

I hadn’t heard of him, but apparently he’s based in London. Here’s his youtube channel:

What I liked most about him was that he ended the show with a speech about the world needing more love. They left stage to the sound of People Get Ready/One Love. That scene alone was worth 18 years of hard rock n Roll work ...
