any of you know who Clarence White was?

Clarence was originally a blue grass picker from Kentucky, I think

    He invented the B Bender.

beautiful player, but I can't find any clips.

But you can listen to the Byrds, album "Sweetheart of the Rodeo," and hear his playing on that.

Maybe a little less chops, and a little more music.

Clarence White is one of my favorites in any genre. Uniquely syncopated phrasing. In addition to the Byrds', "Sweetheart of the Rodeo," check out their, "Ballad of Easy Rider," CD too. He did start out in bluegrass (The Kentucky Colonels?), but switched to Tele. He and Gene Parsons developed the B-Bender (hence its name, "The Parsons-White B-Bender"). Sadly, he was sideswiped and killed by a drunk driver while he was loading his gear into his car after a gig.

Here's a sample of his playing:

On a side note, does anyone know where I can find some links to Flamenco guitar?

Phil was a monster picker, equally at home with country, jazz and rock. His first solo album has been released on cd as "Live Wire":

nice clips.... if I won the lottery, the first thing I'd do is go out and buy a pedal steel.....

Here's a clip of Buddy Emmons - one of the best pedal players ever, IMO - playing an old Texas Playboys' tune .....

....and more Speedy West/Jimmy Bryant someone already referenced upthread.... Speedy West was amazingly musical when you get past the speed-for-speed's-sake and sound effects.....

Haha, no need to win, they're not that expensive if you look around. I have two and I've never won anything, and I've been to Vegas three times

And yes, Buddy Emmons is the greatest!!!

Love Danny Gatton's playing. What a talent he was.
@Soco-recall seeing that special of Gill, Lee and Gatton when it first came out yrs back. Although really good I thought it didn't show enough of what Gatton was capable of doing

Glad this thread came up again. I've liked teh Pass/Clark Hank Williams stuff since the first time I heard any a couple years ago. Anybody know who the rhythm player was on the session? Nice swing rhythm playing.

    Hey guys,

I'm new here but a buddy of mine at the Tele forum told me I should post this over here. I'm using my Forrest Lee Jr. Tele and B Bender on this one.

    Thanks
