    Hi !

I bought this a year ago in January, I like it a lot even if I can't really play it.
    It's an interesting sound.
I wanted to learn the keyboard fingering, I'm more used to playing accompaniment on piano, I bought this thinking I could do something with.
It is not so easy, I began this with the hose tube to see where my fingers were, then with the mouthpiece.

nice!...big melodica fan...my early maestro was late great reggae artist/producer- augustus pablo

(notice he plays great rhythm jabs as well as melody)

great instrument-the hohner melodica (in all it's various permutations)

    keep going!

    Yes, I heard about him.
My melodica is not a "real" one, it's a pianica.

My collaborator plays melodica. I believe his main instrument is sax but it's hard to say as he jumps from instrument to instrument so often. When I hear melodica I think "Stevie Wonder", even though I think he's probably playing harmonica.

Melodica in the intro of this one (sax solo at 1:59 and 3:00)

This Duke Levine track features a nice melodica solo around 3:15.

What is the difference? I bought my wife (a pianist/violinist) a melodica to help with her respiratory problems.

Ah, I found the answer myself using the goooogle. There's no real difference, it's just a matter of manufacturers' branding.
