Another rendition, it is not really good, very repetitive so, I modified it to make it more enjoyable.

Seeing jazz being playing on a Gibson Nighthawk more than makes up for it

That’s the Hal Leonard Real Book track that is based on the Count Basie performance on 1966 at the Sands Hotel in Vegas. Great track!

    Oh, god...

They don't make 'em like this anymore. Happy thing :-)

Ragman: sounds like you're off rhythmically. Sorry! The countin click on the backing track is on 2 and 4

There's no click on the track. Four beats intro and so presumably the next one is beat one. I did notice the chords were doing something odd but it didn't seem to make any difference. It's jazz, don't you know :-)
    It doesn't swing...

OK I did the way I could, I barely know it in C, in F I get lost, and it's difficult to swing on something that swings like a potato, you play the chords on 1 and 3.

Good question! That's where singers I play with wants it.

Why do you post so many takes?
And why post a take in a key that you are not familiar with and with a backing that swings like a potato?

I do it for fun, I saw your Youtube Channel, I'm not sure you accompany the singers like this because your videos are good did you do it as a joke ?

    Lionelsax:
Thanks for your watching and complimenting my videos!

No, the backing track and my posts are no jokes and I'm pretty serious about learning to play walking bass with chords accompaniment.
Ragman has asked for my backing tracks before, so this time I posted a link to it in my first post.

Why don't you try to play something that sounds more simple ?
    Like this crap...

I'm sorry, I say so I play, I'm not a guitarist, so there are a lot of mistakes.
With all you know you could play a wonderful thing, I assume that All Of Me is not the right standard to play bass lines except if you are advanced, when there are more changes it's easier because the fingers move naturally from a point to another.

    Lionel

PS : I'm sorry for the quote, Hans but I did it with a lot of sympathy.

    Lionelsax ,
You play ok/quite clear/ but I think Hohoho wanted to play walking bass with chords a little more complicated stuff.
    Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas !

Yes, sure I understand what he wanted to do but on such a standard like All Of Me, a very simple one, you have to play more substitutions and inversions in order to play a singing walking bass.
On the other hand, I think Hohoho was clapping on one and three while he was recording, to play on his accompaniment you have to imagine what he wanted to do and not what he did.
I think if he tries again, that will be better, I'm pretty sure of that.

On a bop tune it's the easiest thing to do, like I said, everything is under the fingers.

Sure...I/ve played All Of Me about 40 years ago in traditional style of jazz.Anyway it has interesting chords and playing walking bass/I mean every different note on the beat/- it is not easy for guitar player...
