I love this tune. I used to accompany a friend on clarinet on it before he passed away. The Duke Robillard version that the OP links to is really nice.
Here’s my attempt on solo guitar. I’ve been doing a lot more gardening than practicing lately, so it’s rough. I’ll try to work on finger mechanics and clean it up.
It's been awhile since i last logged in here, but there's a strange synchronicity in that i was just playing
'If I Had You' a couple of days ago, and here it is as this month's standard...
and so, off to the shed i will head, since there are still a few days left in the month!!!
In any case, here's a quick 'baseline' recording, playing the melody and changes from memory, and
without the benefit of my 2nd cup of am coffee:
Hopefully it will get a little better...

I'm a big fan and saw him back in the day at the Village Vanguard in NY. I was amazed by his circular breathing technique and playing nose flute. I even named my cat after him!

I think all three of the platforms I use have a metronome function that sends a synchronized click. That works ok but you lose the normal time feel of a good drummer. I doubt that they do any kind of...
Welcome - both to the forum and the world of jazz guitar!
I am also based in the UK and I have experience of both Mambo and Henriksen amps. Both are great, in my book.
I wouldn't say that...
The point of amps like Henriksen and Mambo is they are portable, well built and sound good in loud, live settings, especially with archtops and acoustic instruments.
If you are at a stage where...
hey Rick... sorry i had to leave ...
Anyway what or where I'm going is .... it's not that simple. There are layers of what can and is going on all the time. By that I mean you have multiple...
Hmm, it should be possible for the software to measure the average latency on each connection continuously based on a central clock, and provide every participant with a metronome that's synchronised...
I thought he was acclaimed? He's one of the most interesting of all the avant garde style players IMO. He offers something even to the rudimentary listener that can be accessed. A RK record was some...
Used Henriksen or Mambo amp
