Here's mine. As usual, I didn't know this one before. I wasn't going to post, but I listened to it today and I didn't hate it as much as I did last nite. And hopefully I'll continue with it during the month and improve.
Oh, that was better, sounds more thought-out. Familiarity with the tune helps, of course. No one's that good the first time. The blues sounds were good, suits the tune, I think.
Out of curiosity, what were the Garrison Fewell tips you were using, roughly? Not that I want to copy them or anything but for interest's sake.
It's one of the study threads in the Improvisation forum. It's to do with triads w/extensions to create lines. It's something I've been interested in for awhile now, but never found anything I seemed to "get". His book "A Melodic Approach" looked good and has really made sense to me so far.

Which characteristics are responsible for a difference in sound though? Doesn't the characteristic of a filter depend on capacitance and resistance of the components only?
Just because a humbucker is higher output does not mean it can't be used for more mellow stuff. Lower it way down in the ring and try it before you jump ship for expensive pickups. You might be...
I am sensitive to that as well: the (type of) guitar I play seems to dictate what and how I play (more than I’d like to). I don’t really understand what causes that……
I tune the unmentionable Irish style an octave under a mandolin which took some playing with string gauges as the G needed to be heavier than what came in sets. I play mandolin too, a Ovation and for...
You really need to roll your own capacitors from aluminum foil and waxed paper rather than buying caps from the man. Do homemade cookies taste the same as the stuff in the supermarket?
