Here's mine. As usual, I didn't know this one before. I wasn't going to post, but I listened to it today and I didn't hate it as much as I did last nite. And hopefully I'll continue with it during the month and improve.
Oh, that was better, sounds more thought-out. Familiarity with the tune helps, of course. No one's that good the first time. The blues sounds were good, suits the tune, I think.
Out of curiosity, what were the Garrison Fewell tips you were using, roughly? Not that I want to copy them or anything but for interest's sake.
It's one of the study threads in the Improvisation forum. It's to do with triads w/extensions to create lines. It's something I've been interested in for awhile now, but never found anything I seemed to "get". His book "A Melodic Approach" looked good and has really made sense to me so far.
In terms of convenience (size, weight, volume, features) it's unmatched. Tone is much more subjective. It's a very neutral, PA-like sound. It does not have the warmth and the grit of a tube amp (or a...
The pickguards I think are the worst are like on the Gibson Citation, with one big ol Les Paul knob on them. 30k for a guitar and they couldn't come up with a more elegant solution?
Keith can shed light on Bluedawg's 18" Campellone, because this guitar, along with three other Campellones made for the original owner over a period of a few years, was ordered through Murch Music. I...
Like most things, some love them and some don’t. I rarely use mine out, but when I do I like it. It’s not for everyone. I’d recommend trying one out if you can.
The sound of an amp's line-out through a PA is a completely different thing from the amp's sound through its speaker (even in the case of something intended to be PA-like such as the Fishman. My...
Been thinking of selling some things and buying a Bud 6 for solo guitar. Won't give up my Evans Re200 but the Little Bud 6 seems pretty cool but is it 'boxy' or does it have a nice full tone for...
I don't know. I think it's kinda cool-looking and I wonder what it sounds like. Of course, I wouldn't play it unless my tetanus shots were up to date. shreddin'
I think it's a matter of mechanics. I have never focused on playing fast, this thread is encouraging me to work on it.
It's got me thinking, how would Frank Gambale play Donna Lee? He uses a...
Certainly not in line with the OPs thread but since this has digressed to who thinks what is ugly on a guitar mabey we (most of us) would agree that this is the most butt ugly git Ive seen. Unless of...
Just remember, Princetons, Deluxes, Vibroluxes etc. also don't have a mid control. You can boost the mid by cutting treble and bass and increasing volume. Sometimes I set things up this way depending...
My 2020 Mule steel tricone is the perfect jazz guitar for me. To my ears it is hard to beat a resophonic guitars sound. Tickles the ears like a chorus of bells.
Is the Bud 6 Really That Good?
